OUR
STEAM & ELECTRIC LAUNCH
DESIGNS & PLANS |
Last updated
22/01/24
We now have over
17 designs (plus 4 design alterations which lengthen/alter some of the standard
designs) in our Steam & Electric Launch Catalogue with more on the way. They
are all (like most of our designs) commissions from clients with specific
requirements in mind - you should be able to find one in our catalogue which
closely meets your requirements - but if not, our YachtCAD system is able to
quickly make modifications (change style, dimensions, number of planks etc,
etc). Our
launches range from 13' to 50' in length and our YachtCAD system enables us to
change major hull parameters quickly.
Please note that whilst each launch/canoe was
designed for a particular mode of propulsion, most of the designs can take steam
or electric or internal combustion modes of power.
The launches are built
using both the stitch and tape (tack and tape) method and/or the Cedar
strip plank method - see the links at the bottom of the Navigation Frame
(to the left) for more details and examples of these methods of
construction.

All
Full Construction Plans and Study Plans are now available as electronic
PDF files which can be sent to you as email attachments, for you to
download.
If
you want to receive PDF files rather than paper hard copies then mention
this in the ‘additional notes’ section of the ordering process and
make sure we have your email address – or send us a separate email (to
paul@selway-fisher.com) with
your requirements.
Most
reasonably sized towns have a Copy Shop or Print Shop with an inkjet
plan printer capable of taking PDF files and printing them out onto A1
or A0 paper. You can also print the files out at A4 size and zoom into
the plan files within Adobe Acrobat reader. The advantage is of course,
that you do not have to wait for the post - as soon as your order
payment has been made, we can email you the plan files.
